FOR WHOM?
The introductory course is for those who consider serving in an Anglican parish, through the Porvoo Agreement. The Church of England recommends clergy to attend this course before applying for a position within the CofE. As the course comprises Anglican theology; guidance through the liturgy; hymnbook information and Anglican churchmanship it is also recommended for everyone interested in learning more about Anglican churches. The Lutheran Nordic and Baltic Churches are now, through the Porvoo Agreement, involved in a deeper communion with each other and with the Anglican churches in Britain and Ireland. The Porvoo Agreement affects the individual church member, as the local churches in these countries provide a “home” abroad. The communion is further deepened, as there is an opportunity for priests and deacons to serve in the signatory churches. However, the Porvoo Agreement, will also mean a possibility to become more engrossed in, and learn from, each other’s churchmanship and spirituality.

Revd Canon Jeremy Davies is Precentor at the Cathedral of Salisbury.
Revd Canon Rosalind Brown, Durham Cathedral, is a theologian and hymn writer. She is also co-author of “Being a Priest Today: Exploring Priestly Identity”.
